ABOUT THE BLOG

Why did I start this site? Good question.

The short answer is it came from a conversation with a friend of mine. She has always encouraged me that the complexities and challenges of my life should be shared. That it could help others.

She wasn’t the only one. Most of my friends have encouraged that.

As someone that loves the written word, I intended to write a book about those things. And I’d started it.

Yet, after the last conversation with her, she mentioned blogs and podcasts.

The book was hard to write. Long-form writing, for me, is a personally invasive process and brings things to the surface that can put me in a dark place. Breaking things up into smaller pieces that I may one day make a podcast about felt right.

Then there’s the strange thing that I wanted that book I was writing to be free to people. This allows that.

You’ll learn about things I’ve experienced and how I worked through those things.

And you will hear about my faith and spiritual beliefs. It’s the center of who I am, so I want you to know that going in. I'm not a religious man, my views on organized religion are wide and deep. But I do believe in God and know what that has done for me.

So, with that, you get this page.

My hope is that along the way, others will want to share their stories here. That would make the site complete, I think.

If you want to learn a bit about me, keep going down the page.

ABOUT ME

Now, who is the guy that started this thing?

Hi, I'm Jeremy.

I'm an introverted former soldier who has lived several different lives in this one that I've been blessed with.

I've dealt with a lot and learned how to deal with most of that.

I've loved in ways many only dream of.

I've lost in ways most pray they never experience.

I've traveled the world.

I should have died several times, and thank God I didn't, even if, at times, I thought that's what I wanted.

I've climbed mountains.

I've surfed and fallen off my surfboard often in different breaks around the world.

I'm blessed to have a great family. Some blood, many not.

I'm also blessed to have some of the best friends a guy could ask for.

I've written books, poems, and songs.

Some you may know, but many you won't because I never put them out.

I'm that guy that most people in my life thought would never amount to anything, but I have spent my life proving them wrong, even though it wasn't my purpose to.

I spend my personal time with family or friends, writing or working with homeless and abused children.

Oh, and I hunt down traffickers.

Random info: I have more shoes than any man should have. And I'm not sorry.

Anything else you wish to know, feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer you.
